Tesla Model 3 Highland Accessories: What Fits the 2024+ Model 3 and What to Check

The short answer: the Model 3 "Highland" is the refreshed Model 3, shown in September 2023 and sold in North America from early 2024. It changed the front and rear, the cabin trim, the center console and the steering wheel controls. Anything shaped to the car, such as floor mats, trunk protection, console parts and steering wheel covers, has to be made for the Highland. Parts made for the 2017–2023 Model 3 usually won't fit. Universal items like jack pads, TPMS sensors and portable chargers fit both. Many console and door accessories are shared with the Model Y Juniper, but always check that the listing names the Highland.

Many Model 3 owners find that accessories made for the older Model 3 don't fit the refreshed car. This guide explains how to tell if your Model 3 is a Highland, what changed that matters for accessories, and which accessories are worth adding, area by area. The products we list are third-party products, not made by Tesla, and your own manual has the final word for your car.

Is your Model 3 a Highland?

"Highland" is the nickname for the refreshed Model 3. Tesla calls it simply the new Model 3. You can recognize it quickly:

  • Front: slimmer headlights and a smoother bumper without fog lights.
  • Rear: new tail lights and the word "TESLA" across the trunk instead of the T logo.
  • Inside: ambient lighting along the dash and doors, a touchscreen for the rear passengers, and on most cars, no stalks behind the steering wheel: the turn signals are buttons on the wheel and the gear selector is on the screen.

A Model 3 Standard trim was added later in 2025 with fewer features, and the Performance version has its own bumpers and wheels. Shaped accessories usually list which versions they fit.

Floor and trunk

Floor mats are the first accessory most owners buy, and the one most likely to be wrong if it was made for the older Model 3. For the Highland we list floor and cargo mats that also cover the door sills, a TPE trunk mat, and a trunk sill guard that protects the edge where luggage scrapes. Our guide to protecting the trunk from scratches explains what each part covers.

Center console and storage

The Highland console has its own shape, so organizer trays, the suede console film and the silicone mat for the wireless charging pad must be listed for it. On Premium and Performance cars, a slim USB dock adds four ports with retractable cables. For small things, door pocket liners and an under-screen storage box keep the cabin tidy. Read where to keep small things in a new Model 3 or Model Y and Tesla USB ports explained.

Doors and details

The Highland has electric door release buttons inside. Button covers protect them from scratches and make them easier to see. The frunk on the Highland collects rainwater in its channels, and water channel covers help keep leaves and dirt out. An OBD port cover keeps dust out of the diagnostic port.

Exterior

No-drill mud flaps protect the lower body from road spray, and side camera covers protect the fender camera trim from scratches. Our guide to Tesla mud flaps covers what to check.

Steering and driving

On a Highland, the turn signals are buttons on the steering wheel on most cars, so a wheel cover must leave every button free. Tesla's manuals also have specific warnings about anything fitted over the wheel. Read steering wheel covers and yokes first. Aluminum or sport pedal covers give non-Performance cars the look of the Performance pedals.

Things that fit any Model 3

Some accessories don't depend on the body: jack pads, Bluetooth TPMS sensors, a portable charger and a tire repair kit work with the Highland and the older car alike.

Before you buy

  1. Confirm your version. Highland (2024+ in North America), Model 3 Standard, Performance, or the 2017–2023 car. Shaped parts are listed by version.
  2. Check Premium versus Standard. Some console parts, such as the USB dock we list, are made for Premium and Performance consoles only.
  3. Keep the steering wheel buttons free. On a Highland, a wheel cover that covers the buttons can make the turn signals hard to use.
  4. No seat covers. Tesla's Model 3 manual says not to use seat covers, because of the airbags in the front seats. Our guide to what Tesla says about seat covers explains why.
  5. Read the fit in the listing. We show each product's fit as the seller lists it, but sellers sometimes change versions. Check the listing before you order.
  6. Warranty. In the edition of Tesla's New Vehicle Limited Warranty that we read (Qatar, effective July 2024), non-genuine parts and accessories, and their installation, are not covered, and damage linked to their installation or use is excluded. Editions differ by region, so read yours.

Is it worth it?

For a new Highland, all-weather floor mats and trunk protection are the clearest win, followed by console storage and the charging-pad mat. Exterior parts like mud flaps make sense if you drive on wet or gravel roads. Start with what protects the car, then add comfort and storage as you find what you miss.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Tesla Model 3 Highland?

It is the nickname for the refreshed Model 3, shown in September 2023 and sold in North America from early 2024, with new lights, a new cabin, a rear touchscreen and steering wheel buttons instead of stalks on most cars.

Do 2017–2023 Model 3 accessories fit the Highland?

Shaped parts usually don't: floor and trunk mats, console parts, door pocket liners and steering wheel covers changed. Universal items like jack pads, TPMS sensors and chargers fit both.

Do Model Y Juniper accessories fit the Model 3 Highland?

Some do. The two cars share some interior parts, so many console, door and mud flap accessories are listed for both. Check that the listing names the Highland.

What are the first accessories to buy for a Model 3 Highland?

All-weather floor and trunk mats, then a trunk sill guard and console storage. Add a charging-pad mat if you charge your phone wirelessly every day.

Does the Highland have a USB-C port in the console?

Yes. The refreshed console has a 65 W USB-C port. A USB dock can add more ports for charging, but keep the Dashcam drive in the glovebox port. Our Dashcam guide explains why.

Can I put a steering wheel cover on a Highland?

Only one made for the Highland wheel that leaves every button uncovered. Read Tesla's warnings in our steering wheel cover guide first.

Do Highland floor mats fit the Model 3 Performance?

The interior floor is shared, so Highland floor mats usually list the Performance. Check the listing, especially for trunk parts.

Can I use seat covers on a Model 3 Highland?

Tesla's Model 3 manual says not to use seat covers, because they could restrict the deployment of the seat-mounted side airbags.
